An Excitement Glimpse of 2023 PTFI Christmas Worship and Celebration

Every year, we're more and more excited to celebrate Christmas. Of course, we cherish the long-standing holiday activities our families do, but at this year’s Christmas celebration, several new ways were presented to celebrate Christmas in PT Freeport Indonesia operational areas.

A series of activities were held to welcome the joy of Christmas in the Highlands, including Christmas caroling, Christmas festival and bazaar, Santa Claus meet and greet, kid's coloring contest, town cleanup and diaconia to Banti.

In early December, PTFI held a Worship and Christmas Celebration for 2023 in all PTFI locations, from Tembagapura to Kuala Kencana to Jakarta. The Christmas celebration kicks off  the holiday season and is followed by various community and department  celebrations.

The December 1 event carried the theme “We Are One in Peace” and took place in the Highland at the Tembagapura Sports Hall .

Tony Wenas, PTFI President Director, expressed his appreciation for all PTFI employees, acknowledging thatthe company has achieved its progress targets heading into the New Year. He also commended the PTFI Manyar Smelter Project in Gresik achieving 83 percent progress. "Once again, I want to appreciate all of you. Thank you for our collective hard work," he said.

At the event, a special guest, the Inspirational Indonesian Woman Figure Susi Pudjiastuti, expressed her delight at seeing the environment in PTFI operational areas. She appreciated how PTFI as a mining industry can coexist with the environment.

Making this year’s celebration even more special were song performances by Sonya Bara and Dearly Sompie, two young and talented singers from Papua and Jakarta. Theyperformed several beautiful Christmas songs along with Royale Orchestra and Adriel Vocal Group.

What a year it has been! Let us carry the spirit of gratitude and generosity in our hearts. Welcome the holiday season as a time to cherish the moments spent with loved ones, embrace the joy of giving and create lasting memories that will warm our hearts for years to come. May the excitement of this years’ worship and celebration be a joy-filled experience, as we savor the magic and wonder of this special time of year.
