This activity is not just a routine carried out every year, but a momentum for all workers to be able to reflect and carry out safe work procedures to support work productivity, personal safety, and the safety of colleagues.

The theme of BK3N this year is "Strengthening Human Resource Capacity in Supporting the Implementation of Mining Safety Management System to Increase Productivity" with the goal of ensuring that all employees stay committed and consistently prioritize safety efforts.

In the pursuit of achieving optimal occupational safety standards, all parties must unite towards a shared objective: reducing risks, preventing potential fatalities, and reinforcing a culture of workplace safety.

This process is not an overnight achievement, but a lengthy journey that demands dedication and cooperation from all involved, including PTFI employees, contractors, and partners.

"Given that this is a long sequence, we must process it, because we all play key role in determining the appropriate preventive measures against any potential occupational hazards that we, our co-workers, and others are exposed to," said Rustiarso Rianto, Acting Technical Mine Manager and Senior Vice President Operation Maintenance PTFI.

To accomplish this, effective human resources management plays a crucial role.

“The effectiveness of creating a safe and healthy workplace for all employees largely relies on the capabilities of the Human Resources (HR) department within the organization,” said Catur Budiyanto as Head of the BK3N 2025 PTFI Committee. Increasing HR capacity is considered a crucial factor in reaching the established safety goals.

Over the past five years, the company has successfully lowered the Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR), demonstrating the positive effects of a more effective safety system supported by a strengthened HR system.

To reach these objectives, alongside enhancing safety culture, occupational health is also a major focus. Therefore, a series of BK3N activities, running until February 23, will include various supporting efforts such as; strategic activities, promotional activities, and implementation activities.

The occupational safety and health program will not be limited to the BK3N month celebration; it will continue throughout 2025 and the following years.
