A healthy lifestyle can help you thrive throughout your life. Making healthy choices isn't always easy, however. It can be hard to find the time and energy to exercise regularly
Through the Wellness Program, PT Freeport Indonesia invites all employees and communities to join in living a healthy lifestyle. Morning Exercise with Melanie Putria, Puteri Indonesia 2002 were held on Sunday (22/10) and were attended by more than 300 participants at the Tembagapura Soccer Field.
Rustiarso Rianto, PTFI SVP Operations Maintenance, said that occupational health and safety are important aspects of company’s operational activities.
"Working in PTFI working area can be both physically and mentally challenging. The conditions often involve cool temperatures, high elevations, rain, and fog. It encourages employees to stay fit so they can work well,” Rustiarso said.
“The health tips from Melanie hoped to inspire the workers to adopt a healthy lifestyle in our daily lives. Apart from that, we also urge all employees to take advantage of the sports facilities and healthy food provided by the company," Rustiarso said.
On this occasion, Melanie Putria shared several sports techniques, she also highlights safe and simple types of exercise that are easy to follow and can be adapted to body type
Starting from warm up techniques, Melanie recommend doing dynamic stretching, such as squats, leg swings, and jumping jacks, to increase your heart rate.
“When the body starts to warm up, we can start with the main exercises to train the abdominal muscles, core, hands and feet," Melanie Putria said.
"Movements that can be done include Russian twist, plank and lateral push. Once finished, don't forget to cool down to deal with aches and pains after exercising," Melanie added.
On the second day of the event, Melanie delivered a health seminar entitled "Healthy Lifestyle, Healthy Body," at Superblock, Ridge Camp Mile 72, Tembagapura (23/10).
On this occasion, Melanie provided information about a healthy lifestyle, which included tips for exercising, consuming healthy and nutritious food, and the importance of managing stress and getting enough rest.
