30 November 2024
Gresik, November 30, 2024 – PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) held a Thanksgiving event for PTFI Smelter Operations as an expression of gratitude for the smooth construction process and preparation to start the operational phase, as well as respect for the local wisdom values of the Gresik community.
"We are holding this thanksgiving activity as a form of our gratitude for the support and prayers given by all stakeholders for the smooth operation of the smelter. We believe that with the support and prayers of all stakeholders, the PTFI Smelter can run its operations better, always prioritizing safety standards, so as to provide a sense of comfort in working for all employees and the community," said Executive Vice President, Corporate Planning and Business Strategy Smelter PTFI Horst Dieter Garz when delivering his remarks at the thanksgiving event at the Babbusalam Smelter PTFI Mosque, in the Special Economic Zone (KEK), Gresik, Friday (29/11).
The thanksgiving was attended by religious and community leaders around the smelter, 50 orphans from the Al Ibrohimi and Qomaruddin Islamic Boarding Schools, the Gresik Al-Khidmah Congregation, and all PTFI Smelter employees. The thanksgiving began with a lecture, istighosah, followed by a joint prayer, and the reading of shalawat and dhikr. Joint prayers were said so that all operational processes at the PTFI Smelter would always run smoothly and safely.
PTFI also shared happiness with orphans around the operational area. As a form of social concern, PTFI provides assistance that was handed over directly by PTFI management.
"Hopefully the PTFI Smelter can continue to contribute to the progress of the nation and support the downstreaming that has been planned by the government so that it can provide the widest possible benefits for Indonesia," said Horst Dieter Garz.
