Ensuring that every job can be done effectively, efficiently and according to standards, should be a good work pattern to be applied to every employee. It is important for those of us who work at PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI), to always do our best in our work. Excellence is one of the company's values that is able to encourage the achievement of this. However, unlike turning the palm of the hand, implementing the value of Excellence takes hard work, time, the will to change and improve.
The application of the value of Excellence is implemented in the Management Information System (MIS) Department as one of the departments at PTFI. MIS directly handles data information and communication availability for companies, both enterprise and operations. Especially when dealing with critical systems at PTFI. Examples of critical systems whose handling needs to apply the value of Excellence in a sustainable manner are MineGem for Production and FireFly, for Occupational Safety.
MineGem is an automated operating system for mobile equipment in underground mines. FireFly is a smart-lighting system that forms a smart lighting network throughout the DMLZ and GBC underground mine production areas as a safety warning system. These two systems are very important and a critical part of PTFI.
Technically, MineGem and FireFly consist of 3 parts namely Application, Server and Network. These three parts must work well for the whole system to work. If one of the 3 parts does not work properly, then the system cannot work. When this critical system experiences problems, it will have an impact on stakeholders and safety.
Therefore, the application of the value of Excellence is needed, where decisions and actions need to be carried out quickly and precisely. The application of this value has had an impact on these needs. As well as in terms of collaboration to the implementation of ideas. So that maximum and quality work results can be achieved and critical systems can be immediately restored. The Value of Excellence is necessary so that we are able to explore new options. Able to drive the changes needed to complete a job in both critical and essential areas. Of course, without forgetting the aspects of occupational health and safety.
Excellence can be applied by having a superior mindset. Where to get used to thinking in a more creative and innovative way and develop tolerance to keep moving forward despite challenges and changes. Next, develop a strategy towards Excellence. The mindset that has been formed will encourage us to focus on growth and then build skills and competencies. Let's maintain the value of Excellence so as not to return to old habits. So that the value of Excellence can be applied in every job we do.
