Mark Jenkins, Head of YPJ School explained that in IB-PYP curriculum, teachers act not as teachers but rather as facilitators who guide students in their own self-directed learning.

“IB-PYP curriculum is a student-centered approach. It is an example of best educational practice globally.” Jenkins said.

With the student-centered approach, Mark believe that students will actively come to their own learning through inquiry and self-discovery for them to show their own self-management skills, communications skills, social skills, research skills, and thinking skills

Tembagapura Elementary School earned its accreditation from the IB-PYP in 2018, while Kuala Kencana Elementary School earned the status in 2015.
