2024 General Election at PT Freeport Indonesia Working Areas

A ‘democracy party’ began to start at 7 a.m. in PT Freeport Indonesia working areas in Mimika, Central Papua.
Total 13.341 PTFI employees and community are registered to vote on Indonesia’s General Election which was held on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.
PTFI recognizes the important role that employees and community have in deciding the future leader of Indonesia, therefore PTFI has coordinated with Regional Election Commission to provide 48 special voting locations in Highlands, 8 voting locations in Kuala Kencana and 2 voting locations in Portsite Area for employees to cast votes.
“Jobsite employees who are scheduled to work on Election Day, has been given one hour to vote between 7 a.m. to noon (Eastern Indonesian Standard Time) to exercise their voting right at the designated voting locations,” Vice President Government Relations-PTFI, Josephina Lenny said.
After voting for presidential, parliamentary and local legislative candidates, employees back to the workplace safely.
PTFI Supports Delivery of Boxes for Ballots Paper to Tsinga and Arwanop Villages
In order to support the safe and clear implementation of General Election preparations around PTFI working areas, PTFI deployed two helicopters to deliver boxes for ballots paper directly to Tsinga and Arwanop villages on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.
On voting day, 20 boxes for ballots paper for 4 Arwanop voting locations, and 35 boxes for ballots paper for 7 Tsinga voting locations were ready for use by the community.
