EcoEnergy Smart & Fun Race as a Joint Effort to Protect the Environment and the Health of

The Environmental Division together with the Energy Team initiated the FLSmidth EcoEnergy Smart & Fun Race as the closing of a series of activities to commemorate World Environment Day at PT Freeport Indonesia. This activity was held to raise awareness of the importance of protecting the environment for employees and communities in Tembagapura. The FLSmidth EcoEnergy Smart & Fun Race activity was held on Sunday (28/7), which was opened by the VP Mining Safety Division of PTFI, Eman Widijanto.
This activity embodies a sense of family at PTFI, the participants are teams consisting of representatives of divisions and communities in Tembagapura. With 48 teams consisting of 5 members, the total number of participants reached 240 participants. The activity began with the opening of the starting line at the Tembagapura Sporthall which was continued with a 5km run around Tembagapura and finished back at the Tembagapura Sporthall. After entering the finish line, participants must complete several games at 7 existing posts related to Eco Energy. Such as arranging sentence puzzles about energy, fun games for team cohesion to interactive quizzes with questions on the theme of energy conservation and environmentally friendly energy. The goal is for participants and audiences to be able to better understand energy savings and renewable energy replacement.
Hasmilda Situru, as a member of the team that won First Place in this activity, said that, "The important point in this event is togetherness and maintaining health. Through this activity, I can learn many good things such as understanding the abilities of my teammates. In addition, I learned about energy conservation, protecting the environment, and carbon emissions from the games at each post."
Aris Raharjo, Chairman of the PTFI Energy Management Committee, expressed his appreciation to all parties involved, "Thank you to all parties who have been involved and enthusiastic in this event, including the participants, committee, officers, and the team that has helped the smooth running of this event,"
PTFI's Target to Net Zero-Emission
As conveyed by Tony Wenas, President Director of PTFI, at the 2022 COP27 Climate Summit in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. PTFI is committed to reducing carbon emission intensity by 30% by 2030. To achieve this target, it requires the involvement of all parties in PT Freeport Indonesia. Therefore, it is important to distribute information about the urgency of protecting the environment, such as saving energy from a small scope so that it can be implemented by all employees and communities.
