Trakindo Supports the Rejuvenation and Addition of PT Freeport Indonesia Heavy Equipment Units

Trakindo's partnership with PT Freeport Indonesia has lasted for more than 20 years, with a total of 105 units that have been leased. As a form of support and responsibility, every rental unit handover process is always attended by representatives from Trakindo and PT Freeport Indonesia, which symbolizes the continued close cooperation between the two parties.
At the beginning of 2024, Trakindo has handed over 16 units of Cat® 745 Articulated Dump Trucks that are used for various different needs, including: 1 unit of Cat® 745 Articulated Dump Truck tailgate, a dump body that serves as a barrier for mud to fine material, 1 unit used as a fuel truck to serve refueling, 4 units operating in the underground area, and 6 other units operating in the Cliff Camp area to load road base material, as part of mine road maintenance and supporting work to move concentrate ore in the Porsite area. In addition, to increase mining productivity at the Kasuang Dump Project site, another 4 units were added. The procurement of all these new units was done to replace the units that have been in operation for a long time and are entering the rejuvenation period.
Not only Cat® 745 Articulated Dump Truck, other units such as Wheel Loader 966 NG were also leased in the middle of 2024 to replace the old units used for loading materials to the crusher in MP72 area. A total of 2-unit Wheel Loader 966 NG has also been handed over to PTFI, represented by Alberth Itaar as Ore Flow Manager. "With the presence of two 966 NG wheel loader units, it has a positive impact on CIP productivity. The increase is seen in the total production of CIP Crusher thanks to the capability and efficiency of the utility of the two 966 NG loaders. Trakindo as the loader provider is always responsive to the maintenance and safety needs of the unit in accordance with the standards applicable at PT Freeport Indonesia", said Alberth Itaar.
In keeping with its commitment to reclamation and management of environmental impacts from mining, Freeport also rented 2 rental units of Cat® 320 NG Excavator and 1 rental unit of Cat® 333 SLR Excavator to be used as supporting tools for remediation in Kali Kabur River, in the Common Infrastructure Project - Tembagapura. This remediation is a process of repairing and maintaining river slopes around settlements, which aims to restore the river path so that it will not widen further and reduce the potential for landslides in the river area.
Closing the end of 2024, Trakindo handed over 3 units of Cat® 352 Excavators to replace units that have been in operation for a long time. As it is a new model, prior to the handover of this unit, New Product Introduction (NPI) training was conducted to the West Wanagon Slope Stabilization (WWSS) Operator team and Freeport's Learning & Organizational Development team.
