Freeport Olympic 2025: PTFI Jakarta Welcomes Indonesia's 80th Anniversary with Sporting Spirit
Jakarta, August 14, 2025 — Not only in Tembagapura, Kuala Kencana, and Gresik, PT Freeport Indonesia employees in Jakarta also celebrated the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia with enthusiasm and festivity. Through Freeport Olympic 2025, PTFI Jakarta presented a series of activities ranging from sports, creative performances, and music concerts, which served as a platform for togetherness and sportsmanship.
Throughout August, PTFI Jakarta employees participated in various sports, including table tennis, badminton, tennis, billiards, bowling, dominoes, and the Freeport Run 8K – Individual. Furthermore, in addition to sports, there was an inter-departmental line dance competition, as well as a Department Performance competition with traditional Indonesian costume costumes, which was held on August 17.
PTFI President Director Tony Wenas emphasized that safety must be a top priority in all activities, including sports, as part of the company's SINCERE values.
"We must prioritize safety as part of our company values, namely SINCERE (Safety, Integrity, Commitment, Respect, and Excellence). We must remind, protect, and politely reprimand each other. We are a big family that protects each other," he said at the opening of Freeport Olympic 2025.
As part of the 80th Indonesian Independence Day celebrations, PTFI Jakarta will also hold an Independence Day Commemoration Ceremony, broadcast live and held simultaneously in five operational areas: Tembagapura, Kuala Kencana, Nabire, Gresik, and Jakarta.
As the culmination of the celebrations, on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, an Independence Day Celebration & 80th Indonesian Independence Day Music Concert will conclude the series of 80th Indonesian Independence Day celebrations at PTFI. With the spirit of sports, nationalism, and brotherhood, Freeport Olympic 2025 is a momentum to strengthen relationships between employees, maintain health, and celebrate independence with joy. (AS)
