New Step Toward Great Production: Inauguration of the Dewatering Plant & Pipeline Maintenance Office

20 February 2026 Papua

Timika – Every new step brings its own story and hope. The inauguration of the new Dewatering Plant (DWP) Office Building in Portsite, Mimika Regency, on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, marks a new chapter for all employees of the DWP and Pipeline Maintenance in carrying out operational activities and driving innovation for PT Freeport Indonesia.

This new building was developed as a response to previous work challenges, where DWP and Pipeline Maintenance employees had to operate from three to four separate locations. With the consolidation of all teams into one building, the company hopes that planning, execution, and decision‑making processes can run faster, more efficiently, and in a more integrated manner.

Rai Leimena, Senior Manager of DWP Operation and Pipeline Maintenance, expressed his appreciation to all employees involved in the construction of the new building. In his message, he hoped that the new space would become a place where innovation thrives.

“With this building, we can be more motivated. Many innovations will emerge, whether in terms of safety or productivity,” Rai stated.

The inauguration ceremony continued with the signing of a plaque by Christopher Zimmer, Executive Vice President Technical Services, and Rai Leimena, Senior Manager of DWP Operation and Pipeline Maintenance, followed by the handing over of a Dryer #4 miniature, the striking of the tifa, as well as ribbon‑cutting and tumpeng‑cutting as symbols of the official opening of the new DWP office building.

Despite the heat of the midday sun, the ceremony proceeded smoothly, wrapped in proud smiles from the employees who witnessed the historic moment.

This building was constructed by the Central Services Lowland Construction team led by Junaed and Douglas Girowetz, based on thorough planning and design by the Central Service Engineering team under Tohard Panjaitan, in collaboration with the DWP & Pipeline Engineering team led by Kevin Sipayung.

This new office represents the company's commitment to providing a better, more modern, and integrated work environment. Designed with a Green Building concept by the Central Services Division, this development also serves as a tangible expression of the company’s concern for sustainability and environmental preservation.

“I feel proud. Previously, there were three to four separate offices, making it difficult for employees to communicate. With this new building, communication and planning processes are no longer an issue. Of course, we will all be able to work even better,” said Chris.

This building stands as proof that every advancement is achieved through collective commitment. May the presence of this new facility mark the beginning of even greater achievements in the future.

“Thank you to the PTFI Management for their full support so far for DWP Operation and Pipeline Maintenance,” said Rai.
