Welcoming Christmas and New Year, PTFI Provides Flight Facilities and Christmas Boats for Employees

Timika, December 10, 2024 - Entering the Christmas and New Year 2025 holiday season, PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) officially opened the Christmas Flight & Boat 2024 Program to provide transportation for employees and their families to vacation together with their families in their hometowns. The inauguration ceremony as well as the first flight took place at Mozes Kilangin Pioneer Airport in Timika, Mimika Regency, Central Papua on Tuesday (10/12).
PTFI's Senior Vice President of Community Development Nathan Kum also attended the event, which was marked by the beating of tifa as a symbol of the opening of the event. Nathan revealed that the Christmas Flights and Voyages program is PTFI's commitment to provide the best facilities for Papuan employees from seven tribes and other kinship tribes.
"The safety of PTFI employees and their families is the company's top priority. We hope that the Christmas Flight & Boat 2024 facility can provide convenience and safety for PTFI employees and their families to celebrate Christmas and New Year in their respective hometowns," Nathan said.
Manager BU Support & IR Settlement Anthonius Kaisiepo, Chairman of the Christmas Flight & Boat 2024 Organizers, said the collaborative effort between Human Resources & Industrial Relations (HR&IR) is fully supported by PTFI and the Security Forces.
"To serve flights to several districts, districts and villages in mountainous areas that are difficult to reach, employees and their families are facilitated using Airfast Helicopters. In addition, for employees and families who come from the southern coastal areas of Papua will be served by a Christmas cruise," said Anthonius.
The 2024 Christmas Flight & Boat program served a total of 3,067 passengers. 2,442 airplane passengers, including destinations to Enarotali, Wamena, and Nabire, served 71 boat passengers to remote coastal areas such as Potowaliburu and Agimuga, and carried 554 helicopter passengers to rugged destinations such as Hoeya, Tsinga, and Arwanop.
While greeting employees and families who were preparing to depart on the inaugural Christmas flight using Airfast PK-OCF Twin Otter aircraft, Nathan Kum expressed his congratulations on welcoming Christmas and New Year with family. He also conveyed a message to employees to always maintain safety during this holiday season so that later they can return to work healthy and safe.
