PTFI Facilitates Mass Wedding for Employees, Supporting Legal Recognition of Marriages

Kuala Kencana – PTFI facilitated a mass wedding for employees whose marriages had yet to be registered with the civil registry. Hosted by the Papuan Affairs Division (PAD, this significant event took place on November 1, 2024, at the Multipurpose building in Kuala Kencana and was attended by family, friends, and company representatives.

The initiative reflects a thoughtful approach to employees’ well-being, helping them formalize their unions and fulfill civil requirements that are often challenging to navigate. Nineteen employee couples participated, allowing them to gain legal recognition of their marriages and address long-standing administrative needs.

marital PAD Yulia Rumbiak Saba, Manager Stakeholder Relation explained “We recognize that obtaining a legally recognized marriage status is significant for PTFI and Contractor employees, and we’re happy to provide support to make this process smoother,” said Yulia.

In collaboration with the local Population and Civil Registry Office, the company ensured that all legal procedures were seamlessly managed, providing peace of mind for the newlyweds.

“A marriage that has legal force is one that is legalized by the government, namely the registration of civil marriages,” said Dolfina Ritiauw, SE. M.Si, head of the Population and Civil Registration Office in Mimika.

The atmosphere at the event was both dignified and celebratory, as family and friends gathered to support the couples. Following the official ceremony, the newlyweds joined a warm reception where they were met with applause and congratulations.

PAD’s mass wedding program is expected to continue as an annual event, building on the value of community support and foster a stronger sense of belonging and support within the PTFI family.
