Highlighting the importance for every Underground Mine Operator and Supervisor at PT Freeport Indonesia to have the right mindset, behavior, and understanding of their roles and responsibilities. Given the high complexity of underground mining operations, the ability to properly execute procedures, maintain caving stability, and ensure safety and productivity is crucial. Therefore, the Underground Mining Division Management at PTFI requires underground mine employees, particularly GBC Production Mine operators and supervisors, to undergo specialized training to ensure that all ROC (Remote Operation Center) personnel can contribute optimally to the sustainability of operations.

The Cave Health Awareness, Role & Responsibility Training for ROC Operators & Supervisors is designed to enhance competencies and strengthen the mindset of all ROC GBC Operators and Supervisors. This training targets 254 participants who play a vital role in maintaining the continuity of underground mining operations, particularly for block caving mining method.

This training is designed to achieve several main objectives, namely:

  • To develop the correct mindset as a ROC Operator and Supervisor in carrying out daily operations.
  • To enhance understanding of the basics of block caving operations, so that participants can maintain caving stability while mitigating risks to ensure safe and sustainable underground mining operations.
  • To ensure participants' ability to extract ore from draw points according to the given orders, while providing factual information if there are changes in field conditions.
  • To strengthen understanding of the role of each individual in underground mining operations within the ROC environment.
  • To increase awareness of responsibilities and accountability related to work safety, productivity, and compliance with procedures.
  • To provide understanding of the limitations and use of authority in accordance with the applicable SOPs and regulations.
