Behind the Work: Celebrating Women in Global Supply Chain

Tembagapura, June 11, 2026 — In the spirit of the International Day of Women in Mining, Global Supply Chain (GSC) Division of PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) took a moment to shift the spotlight—from operations and output to the people behind them.

At the Lupa Lelah Club, employees and management gathered for the “Recognizing Women of Global Supply Chain” event, honoring the often-unseen contributions of women who keep operations moving every day.

In a fast-paced mining environment, recognition can easily be overlooked. Vice President of Supply Chain, James Spitzer, acknowledged this reality, emphasizing that impact is not always visible—but deeply felt. “The hardest work isn’t always the most visible,” he said. “But your influence is felt in every corner of this organization. You bring not only excellence, but also humanity, balance, and strength.”

The event came to life through personal stories. Margaret emphasized about the importance of a supportive workplace where women are encouraged to grow.. Feronic- who has spent eleven years in GSC, shared how her team has become like family. Roretta reminded everyone that kindness—regardless of position—is key to building strong teams.

These reflections highlight a broader truth: women in mining are not only contributing to operations, but also shaping culture—bringing resilience, collaboration, and perspective into a demanding industry.

Leaders, including EVP Site Operations Carl Tauran and GS Government Relations Natalia Janampa, expressed pride in the perseverance of female employees who continue to thrive in challenging environments.

Closing the event, Spitzer shared a hope that this recognition goes beyond a single day. “Your work matters, your voices matter, and your contributions matter—and we are better because of you.”

With a similar event planned in Jakarta on June 22, the message is clear: celebrating women in mining is not just about recognition—it is about building a more inclusive and stronger future for the industry.
