Production Block 4 Officialy Begins “A New Beginning for PTFI's Underground Mining Production”

PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) initiated the first blast of the Production Block 4 (PB4) project, marking an important phase in underground mining operations. The event was attended by EVP of Operations George Banini, Technical Mine Manager & EVP Site Operations Carl Tauran, SVP Underground Mine Matthew Sullivan, along with the Underground Mine Management team.
The construction of a 32-kilometer drift in PB 4 DMLZ was completed in three yearswith a production target of 50,000 tons of high-quality material per day,
The undercut process officially began with a symbolic ribbon cutting by VP DMLZ Production & Development Jeff Bray and a siren press by VP Underground Engineering Anton Priyatna. PB4 reflects PTFI's commitment to continuous innovation in the underground mining industry and is expected to play a significant role in long-term operations, with production projected to continue for decades.
