There is reclamation carried out, there are 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) and there are efforts to reduce emissions, and we (PTFI) promise that by 2030 we will reduce emissions. And PTFI's current operations have switched to using electric power, we are also trying to conference our power plants that used to use coal, conference using environmentally friendly energy, using liquid gas. This is the company's commitment to reducing emissions." Claus said.

The Regent of Mimika Regency in a written speech read by the Expert Staff of the Regent of Mimika for Economy and Development, Inosensius Yoga Pribadi, expressed his appreciation to PT Freeport Indonesia for supporting this World Environment Day commemoration event and for showing its commitment to environmental management. The importance of the entire global community paying special attention to environmental issues.

We all know that environmental problems have a huge impact on climate change. Climate change refers to long-term changes in the earth's climate, especially those caused by human activities, such as greenhouse gas emissions from the burning of fossil fuels. These released gases will capture heat in the atmosphere and cause an increase in global temperatures, resulting in a variety of negative impacts on human health, the environment, and the economy.

Some of the negative impacts of climate change are causing natural disasters such as hurricanes, droughts, and floods, which can lead to loss of life and property damage. Climate change is also affecting agricultural productivity and food security, as changing weather patterns make it difficult to grow crops and raise livestock. It can also lead to the spread of disease and threats to the human population. (Hendrikus).
