Freeport Continues to Collaborate and Support Development in Mimika Regency

Nabire, March 26, 2025 – PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) will continue to collaborate with the Mimika Regency government and contribute to development through various social investment programs. This was conveyed by PTFI Director & EVP of Sustainable Development Claus Wamafma shortly after attending the inauguration of Mimika Regent Johannes Rettob and Deputy Regent Emanuel Kemong at the Central Papua Provincial Governor's Office in Nabire on Tuesday (3/25).

"PTFI will continue to work with and support the government, supporting development through various corporate social responsibility programs that focus on community development in education, health, economy, and infrastructure," said Claus.

He said that this inauguration was certainly welcomed by the community and all government  stakeholders, including PTFI. "PTFI is present here, will continue to maintain communication, friendship, and also the good cooperation that has been established so far with the Mimika Regency Government, Puncak Regency Government, and Central Papua Provincial Government," said Claus.

Meanwhile, Central Papua Governor Meki Nawipa gave a special message to Mimika Regent Johannes Rettob and Deputy Regent Emanuel Kemong to embrace all groups. "Build good communication, embrace all political opponents, protect our region, our mountains. Through Special Autonomy, the state has given us the privilege to develop our land properly. Let's make history in this period; the Central Papua region must rise and 'fly,'" said Meki Nawipa in his speech.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by local officials, community leaders, and representatives from various governmental and security organizations. "On behalf of the Management and the extended family of Freeport Indonesia employees, we congratulate Mimika Regent Johannes Rettob together with Deputy Regent Emanuel Kemong on their appointment," concluded Claus.
