With the designation of the PTFI Jobsite area as a Special Location for ballot voting by the General Election Commission of the Republic of Indonesia (KPU RI), the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections can take place in PTFI's operational area in Mimika Regency, Central Papua. A total of 10,451 PTFI employees and community members are registered as permanent voters in the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections.

"PTFI supports the achievement of effective, efficient, transparent, accountable, and accessible Regional Elections, especially in PTFI's operational areas in Mimika. We continue to coordinate with the Mimika Regional General Election Commission (KPUD), the District Election Committee (PPD), and the Voting Committee (PPS), starting from the provision of Special TPS at the Jobsite to the re-delivery of ballot boxes from all Special TPS for recapitulation of the ballot count at the Tembagapura District level in Timika," said PTFI Vice President of Government Relations Lenny Josephina.

She said PTFI was involved in the implementation of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections by accommodating the logistical needs of ballot boxes with special security. All logistical needs for voting in the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections arrived safely in accordance with applicable regulations.

Special polling locations in the PTFI area include 23 Polling Stations (TPS) spread across 14 locations in the Highlands, 8 in the Lowlands area, and 1 in the Portsite area.

"Regarding employees who work on voting day, the company provides an allocation of time for one hour between 07:00 to 13:00 WIT to each employee so that they can exercise their voting rights at the polling station that has been determined in their respective work areas. After electing the candidates for Regent and Governor, employees return to their workplaces safely," she said.

PTFI Manpower Management Division worker Theresia Narkime, who voted in the Lowland area, said she was able to leave her workplace to vote at TPS 904 Multipurpose Kuala Kencana. "We, the workers, are given time to participate in electing regional heads at the polling stations that have been appointed. Our supervisor allowed us to vote, and we calmly followed the election at work," said Theresia.
