PT Freeport Indonesia and Mimika Local Government Signed A Cooperation Agreement for RSWB

As part of the company’s commitment to give back to the people around PT Freeport Indonesia operational areas, PTFI has signed a cooperation agreement with the Mimika local government for the operation of Waa Banti Hospital (RSWB).

Jonny Lingga, VP Government Relation of PTFI with The Head of the Mimika Health Department signed a collaboration agreement at the Rimba Papua Hotel in Timika on Thursday (2/11). In the cooperation clause, which is valid until December 31, 2024, the parties agreed to collaborate to support the development of facilities, infrastructure, and the operation of RSWB.

A cooperation agreement follows the successful the RSWB inauguration on September 15, 2023 and has served over 1,000 patients since its opening.

RSWB holds the strategic role in providing healthcare services to the residents of Banti I, Banti II, Opitawak, and several surrounding villages.

"The collaboration in the process of rebuilding RSWB demonstrates good cooperation commitment between the Local Government, the Amungme and Kamoro Community Empowerment Foundation, along with all stakeholders in reopening healthcare access to the residents of Tembagapura District, Mimika Regency, Central Papua Province," said Jonny.

The Head of the Mimika Health Department, Reynold Ubra, stated that the collaboration between the Mimika Regency Government and Freeport Indonesia has significantly contributed to strengthening the provision of healthcare facilities to the community, especially in the Banti village area, which is the closest to the operation.
