PTFI Assists 35 Helicopter Flights in Carrying 90 Tons of Food Packages to Highland Villages
Overcoming the challenging terrain to reach the villages behind the mountains, PT Freeport Indonesia delivered Christmas supplies and Christmas and New Year's food packages to highland villages near the company's operational area.
PTFI provided helicopters to deliver the food packages to the highland communities. The delivery process took place from December 7 to 23, 2025, from Mozes Kilangin Airport in Timika to the villages of Tsinga, Aroanop, and Jila. The entire operation proceeded safely and without incident. Collaboration between PTFI, the community, and other relevant units ensured that each load was securely secured, the landing area was secure, and all safety procedures were carried out in accordance with PTFI's operational standards. This demonstrates PTFI's commitment to being present, supporting welfare, and strengthening bonds of togetherness amidst geographical challenges.
A total of over 90 tons of basic food supplies were transported via 35 special flights to three villages in the Highlands. This included 8.4 tons of basic food aid provided by PTFI to the target villages. All of this aid has been well-received by the community.
Nathan Kum, SVP of Sustainable Development, emphasized that this activity is part of the company's value of sharing love. "We believe that Christmas is a time for sharing love. Through this assistance, we want to ensure that the community can celebrate Christmas with joy. We hope this support will be beneficial and strengthen the good relationship between Freeport and the community."
"We are very grateful to God for blessing us through PTFI. We, the community, understand the situation PTFI is facing following the incident at the mine. So, we are very grateful that PTFI remains committed to helping us," said Yoab Beanal, Chief of the Tsinga Valley Tribe, who expressed his gratitude during a meeting with the PTFI team.
PTFI is committed to continuing its sustainable social investment program. "We hope this activity brings joy and strengthens the good relationship between PTFI and the community. We will continue to be present." "Not just during Christmas, but also in various other programs that support community welfare," added Nathan Kum.
Through this initiative, PTFI wants to ensure that every Christmas and New Year celebration is filled with warmth and togetherness. Not only within the company, but also with the community. As one family. Together in the Light.
