Opening of PTFI 22th CLA Renewal Negotiation

PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) officially started the 2022-2024 Collective Labor Agreement (CLA) Negotiation Update on Friday (20/10/2023) at the Rimba Papua Hotel, Mimika Regency, Central Papua Province.
Negotiations for the XXII CLA Update takes place with the three unions - the Leadership of the Chemical, Energy and Mining Workers' Union Work Unit (PUK SP-KEP) SPSI PTFI, the All-Indonesian Trade Union Confederation Energy Mining Federation (PK FPE KSBSI) PTFI and the Union PTFI Independent Papuan Workers (SPMP).
The opening of the PKB Renewal Negotiations was officially opened by the Head of the Energy and Mineral Resources Labor Transmigration Service for Central Papua Province, Frits James Boray, marked by the beating of tifa and the exchange of negotiating agreement mandate letters by representatives of the three labor unions to PTFI management.
"We need to join hands together to carry out these negotiations in making policies that must be determined wisely, so that we can minimize problems," said the Head of the Central Papua Province Manpower and Energy and Mineral Resources Service, James Frets James Boray
Representing PTFI Senior Management, Director & Executive Vice President Community Development, Claus Wamafma expressed his appreciation to all labor unions and the Company’s Team who have completed the verification process so that the opening can be carried out today. "We all agree to have the same spirit in negotiations to complete these negotiations quickly," said Claus.
In his remarks, the Chairman of PUK SPKEP SPSI, Lukas Saleo, said that his party hopes that the PKB renewal negotiations this time will take place more quickly and with good results. "It is hoped that these negotiations will run shorter, better and be more beneficial for workers, entrepreneurs and the future of all of us in harmonious, just and sustainable industrial relations," he said.
Chairman of PUK FPE SBSI, Makmeser Kafiar supports the spirit of good partnership with entrepreneurs. "The spirit that previously existed will be our basis for carrying out negotiations, hopefully we can carry out negotiations well and we achieve good things for the company, employees and families,"
SPMP Chairman Virgo Salosa also expressed his views at the opening of these renewal negotiations. "In these negotiations, good communication will be established with the two other unions, namely SPSI and SBSI, in order to fight for better employee rights. In addition we represent employees to ensure welfare. "If it is appropriate, we hope that there will be no need for these negotiations to continue for a long time," he said.
The opening of the XXII PKB Renewal Negotiations was attended by the Head of the Mimika Regency Manpower and Transmigration Service (Disnakertrans), Paulus Yanengga, PTFI Human Resources Director Clementino Lamury along with staff, as well as representatives of the SPSI and SBSI leadership from Jakarta.
