09 April 2024
(RIDGECAMP) Completing 57 years of working in Indonesia, PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) is proudly celebrating its anniversary on 7 April 2024.
Carrying the theme “Berkarya untuk Indonesia”, part of the PTFI Anniversary Celebration series was held in the Ridge Camp with PTFI Senior Management. Which began, by serving lunch to employees in the Kenanga Mess Hall and ended with Tumpeng (Indonesian cones-shaped rice) sliced as a symbol of togetherness at this event.
“We are all one big Freeport family. A big happy family, we live side by side with each other. Various ethnicities, different religions, different nationalities, but we are all one. We are one from our home in Tembagapura, we work for Indonesia,” said Tony Wenas, PTFI President Director after slicing the Tumpeng.
Last but not least, employees whose birthdays are on April 7 were especially invited to attend this lunch. To enliven the event, besides having lunch together, they were also merchandises as doorprize for employees who were able to answer quiz questions. All employees in attendance received a special gift before leaving the Mess Hall.
The lunch with management that day was attended by around 3,000 employees. An employee expressed his opinion upon receiving his lunch served by Tony Wenas, "This is a very good event to maintain the togetherness and cohesiveness of Senior Management with us as employees, hopefully Freeport will be even more prosperous in its new age."
Apart from President Director Tony Wenas, other Senior Management, such as Technical Mine Manager (KTT) Carl Tauran, Agung Laksamana, EVP External Affairs from the Jakarta office, Linda Hayes, from the Phoenix office and of course other management from Jobsite were also seen taking part in serving food for the employees. The surprise of PTFI's 57th anniversary was a meaningful moment for the PTFI extended family in Ridge Camp.
