Timika, February 15, 2025 - PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) supports the development of young generation resources in Mimika Regency through Digital Voice: Public Speaking & Podcast Creations training held in Timika, February 11-14, 2025.

"This program is designed to equip participants with public speaking skills and technical abilities to create podcasts, which are increasingly relevant in today's digital era," said PTFI Vice President Corporate Communications Katri Krisnati in Timika, Thursday (13/2).

The training was attended by 30 participants from Timika from various professional backgrounds including civil servants, SME entrepreneurs, influencers, students, housewives, private sector workers, and others. There were also PTFI partners such as SATP Public Relations, Maramowe Foundation, YPMAK Public Relations, and PFA Public Relations.

The activities included training materials and field practice at the Mimika Sport Complex (MSC). The purpose of the field activities was to provide hands-on experience in creating podcasts outside the studio. At this sports facility built by PTFI, participants learned to understand real challenges in audio content production while honing their creativity in creating quality podcasts.

One of the training participants, Franco Irahewa, expressed great enthusiasm for the three-day activity. "This is the first podcast training in Timika. I work as public relations at Papua Taruna Boarding School, and this activity greatly supports my duties, training communication skills to create quality content," he said.

Communication Science student from the Muslim University of Indonesia, Siti Ramadhana, expressed interest in this training. "It's evident from the training modules and practices that they are very up-to-date, providing new insights and easy to implement in Timika city. We, the young generation, are interested and hope activities like this continue. One word for this activity: wonderful," said Siti.

Katri said through this digital literacy initiative, PTFI hopes to open access to knowledge and skills for the young generation of Mimika in personal branding, the workplace, and creative industries. Participants are encouraged to maximize the internet productively and commercially. With more young people in Timika mastering digital skills, they are expected to contribute to spreading useful information and inspiring the wider community.

"We hope through this training, the young Papuan generation will become more confident in expressing ideas and utilizing communication channels positively," said Katri.
