Bandung, July 3, 2025 – PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) received the Ganesa Wirya Jasa Adiutama Award from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) as a long-term strategic partner of the Faculty of Mining and Petroleum Engineering (FTTM) ITB in developing education, research, and human resources in the field of mining engineering and energy.
"It is an honor for us to receive the Ganesa Wirya Jasa Adiutama Award. This achievement represents PTFI's commitment to contribute to building national scientific capacity with global competitiveness," said PTFI President Director Tony Wenas after receiving the award at ITB, Bandung, Thursday, July 3, 2025.
This contribution is realized through support for practical work, final assignments, and dissertations of 60 students, as well as providing field data that has helped dozens of students graduate from various levels.
In addition, flagship programs such as the Papuan Bridge Program have opened access to higher education for Papuan sons and daughters at ITB and in 2022 provided research funding and scholarships for Papuan students. On the academic side, PTFI also supports activities such as the International Student Mining Competition and scientific seminars, and funded six research topics in 2023.
"In 2025, we are also establishing a strategic partnership through the ITB Inspiration Class Pre-University program for Papuan children who receive scholarships from PTFI as an effort to expand opportunities and competitiveness to continue education to higher levels," said Tony.
The award was presented directly by ITB Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Tatacipta Dirgantara, M.T., at the Open Session Commemorating 105 Years of Higher Technical Education in Indonesia (PTTI) at the West Hall of ITB, Ganesha Campus, Bandung.
The award was given to 34 individuals and institutions divided into six categories: Ganesa Widya Jasa Adiutama, Ganesa Widya Jasa Utama, Ganesa Widya Jasa, Ganesa Wirya Jasa Adiutama, Ganesa Wirya Jasa Utama, and Ganesa Wira Adiutama.
