PFA Prints Talented Graduates: Six Alumni Join the U-17 National Team
Timika, July 1, 2025 - A total of six alumni from the Papuan Football Academy (PFA), Yulius Stenly Waitikitaka Pigay, Samuel Cundrad Susim, Ferdinandez Fabregas Timotius Pulalo, Yohanes Yapagaimu, Efaldus Sereuw, and Alfons Rizal Saman, were given an opportunity to prove themselves at the national level through the selection of the Indonesian U-17 National Team.
Stenly Waitikitaka Pigay joined the PSBS Biak Team for the Elite Pro Academy. Stenly also had the chance to study at Girona Academy in Spain after being selected as an Elite Pro Academy Future Star. This international experience further enriches his knowledge of modern football.
Fabregas is currently studying at the ASTI Academy and is part of the Elite Pro Academy Dewa United U-16 squad for 2024-2025, and Yapagaimu has joined the Safin Pati Academy. Efaldus Sereuw and Alfons Rizal Saman are now at the Safin Pati Academy, while Cundrad Susim is currently playing in the Elite Pro Academy Persija Jakarta.
The head coach of the U-17 National Team, Nova Arianto, stated that from the selection results of the U-17 National Team players, one of the PFA alumni, Yohanes Yapagaimu, has been called up again to attend the training camp for the U-17 National Team of Indonesia in Bali from July 7 to August 10, 2025. This training camp is part of the preparation for the U-17 World Cup in Qatar from November 3 to 27, 2026.
Nova praised Yapagaimu, describing him as a player with a strong physique and a high fighting mentality. 'Yapagaimu always shows determination in every training session and match. He has the character we need for the U-17 team,' he said. Nova mentioned that this PFA alumnus has fighting spirit and hard work on the field. This is one of the reasons he was called back to the training camp. 'We hope Yohanis can compete with other forwards,' said Nova.
