The 2019 National Occupational Health and Safety Month (BK3N) officially launched February 23 with a kick-off ceremony in Tembagapura Soccer Field. The theme, set by the organizing committee is “Through our health and safety culture, we are creating a PTFI work environment without fatalities to support work productivity.”
At the opening ceremony, Zulkifli Lambali, PTFI Technical Mine Manager (KTT), expressed his appreciation to all employees for achieving zero fatalities and a lower Total Reportable Incident Rate (TRIR) of 0.188 compared with 0.250 in 2017. “We must maintain this remarkable achievement by continuing to focus on our Fatal Risk Management (FRM) program throughout our organization,” Lambali said.
The FRM program was socialized last year through a series of meetings and events, said Hari Budi Lesmana, the 2019 BK3N Chairman Committee. “We will continue this focus and monitor progress,” he said. “The main goal is to continue having zero fatalities at PTFI.”
Dwinanto Herlambang, Section Head of Mineral Mining Safety of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, expressed his support on behalf of the government for various program and activities related to Occupational Health and Safety throughout the PTFI organization.
Health and safety related activities will continue across the organization through March 31.
